- The Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society , to everyone visiting Hammerfest!



The famouse club have been on the move for a couple of months, but from the 7th of Nevember we are opening in a new location. 

You will find us in the main street, right across the street from the Arctic Cultural Center. The address is: Strandgata 29, 9600 Hammerfest.

Here you can sign up for a membership (if you are not a member already) and look around in our free exhibition where you will learn about our history of Arctic fishing and hunting, including riskfull expeditions into the ice. Right next to the club you will also find the tourist information desk - at Visit Hammerfest Show Room, including city maps. 

Did you know that The Polar Bear Society is the second largest club in the world, in terms of memberships? In this moment the club have 278 870 registrated members (November 2022)! 

New opening hours: 
Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 03:00 PM
The club is closed on weekends and during christmas- and easter holiday unless we have announced something else on our Facebookpage.
